Boarding at RVVH
Rogue Valley Veterinary Hospital offers boarding for both cats and dogs. Our boarding facility is aimed at comfort and fun for your pet. We offer cage free time several times a day. Your pet will join a
playgroup or enjoy personal cuddle time during the day. We offer constant interaction with your dog as our dog daycare staff incorporates your dog in play. Cats will be given extra cuddles and receive playtime if they prefer to stretch their legs. Come any time for a tour through our facility. We offer two types of kennels for dogs; suites and regular kennel runs. The suites are calming, comfortable and are especially designed for geriatric and extra large dogs. They include a comfortable Kuranda dog bed and extra large space, more like a bedroom. The suites are covered with a soft rubber flooring. This flooring is warm and comfortable, and is softer with a non-slip texture for older pet's with arthritis or pets requiring physical rehabilitation. Our feline friends are housed separately from dogs, have their own sanitary litter pan, warm snugly bedding, and are housed in rooms provided with Feliway diffusors, a pheromone scent that has a calming effect on the cats and helps your kitty feel comfortable and safe in its new environment.
Rogue Valley Veterinary Hospital continues to stay in touch with new research to ensure your dog's stay at our facility is as comfortable as possible. During your visit at RVVH you may have noticed our sound system. We have a built in sound system throughout our building which plays very special music. All animals in daycare, boarding or in medical recovery are exposed to uniquely composed music which helps your dog to relax and feel at peace. Dr. Deborah Wells from Belfast, Ireland who is an animal behaviorist, undertook a research program to determine the influence of five types of auditory stimulation; human conversation, classical music, heavy metal music, pop music and a silent control (no music at all). The results of the study indicated that classical music has a marked soothing effect on dogs in animal shelters when compared to other types of auditory stimulation. The animals spend more time resting and resulted in a significantly lower level of barking. If your dog has problems with car rides, thunderstorms, being home alone, or having guests in the house this music might be something for you to explore. RVVH sells these cd's with uniquely composed music which has adjusted rythms to ensure a calming affect on your dog.
If your pet needs extra care due to medical or behavioral reasons we will help your pet with special care during his or her stay. With veterinarians , technicians and behavior specialists on staff your pet will be in safe and caring hands. We offer extra services for a reasonable rate; spa treatment before your dog goes home, daycare play time or large suites with a comfortable Kuranda bed and blankets.
